How it all started
At the age of 18, during the economic crisis in Italy, my father, Adolfo Palermo, gathered his last savings and boarded a train to France, where he was welcomed by a local family. At a very young age, he began working at a Citroën dealership in northern France.
It was there that he met his future wife, Godelieve Vansteelant. The couple settled near his workplace, but Godelieve found it difficult to adapt to life in France. Together, they decided to return to her native region of Flanders, Belgium.
Their family soon grew with the arrival of their two children, Lorenzo and Pina.
Adolfo continued his career at the Citroën dealership Vanhaecke in Roeselare. Then, in 1980, he fulfilled his lifelong dream by opening his own business: Garage Palermo was born. Thanks to his dedication, hard work, and commitment to customer service, the company quickly flourished. Ten years later, a brand-new showroom was inaugurated to support the business's continued growth.
In 1990, I, Lorenzo Palermo, joined the family business. Working alongside my father, I gained valuable experience and knowledge that enabled me to further develop and expand the company.
In 2001, my father retired and my wife, Valerie, and I took over the business. We were determined to continue the family values that had shaped Garage Palermo from the very beginning. We are also proud to say that our two sons, Luca and Matteo, share the same passion for automobiles.
